Electronic Mail at the University of Warsaw

The rules for using electronic mail at the University of Warsaw are set out in Regulation No. 39 of the Rector of UW of 13 April 2026 on the Rules for creating, deactivating and using UW electronic mail (UW Monitor item 97).

Email domains:

• @uw.edu.pl (Gmail) — employees, doctoral students, retirees, pensioners, collaborators, functional accounts;
• @student.uw.edu.pl (Gmail) — students, postgraduate study participants;
• @adm.uw.edu.pl (Exchange) — additional accounts for administrative staff.

UW email account names are created from the user’s first and last name — they contain initials or full first names and may include a numerical suffix.

Email addresses are created by an automatic algorithm that prevents confusion with other people with the same personal data. Changing the login is not possible — the only exception is a change of personal data (first name or last name).
